Default brand new member to civics ! got a few questions with pics !

hey everyone ! im new to the civic world i just bought a 1993 hodna civic hatch back got a few questions what motor is in it ? i was told its a b16, and witch oil weight should i run for this motor ? also it has these angel eye projector headlights and it came with hids that where never hooked up ive hooked up plenty of hids but i dont know if i can hook them up to these headlights the wiring is totally different and could someone tell me what bulb this is so i can atleast get some brighter bulbs ? thanks a bunch everyone !

That would appear to be a B16a2 engine, but you can find out for sure. There is a square plate on the engine block, just to the left of the header. You can't miss it. It's square, right where the engine block and transmission meet. Might be covered in oil, but it's there.

You typically run 5w30 in Hondas, unless I'm mistaken.

Looks like an H1 bulb.

Good luck with the wiring. Aftermarket stuff can be tricky.

ok cool thanks for the info.... yeah these lights absoluty suck at night i just tried them there is no way i could drive like this at night... i need to figure something out asap weather i have to get a whole new headlight or something

What do the other bulbs on the headlights look like?
To me that bulb looks like it might be used for something else, like angel eyes or something or maybe even wanna be daylight running lights.

Maybe you got the wrong cable hooked up to your actual low beam headlight bulb.

thanks for the help everyone ! yes its a b16a2 , and i figured out how to hook up the hids as well... the car has a AEM CAI what are other mods people do to these motors to get some more Hp outta them other then turbo it or supercharge thanks !

Default Oil

Ya if I remember right anything before 2003 Honda uses 5W30. I believe anything '03 and newer gets 5W20. And then when you get to the hybrids it gets crazy with 0W20. I worked for honda for about 4 years changing oil but its been 3 years or so. Now im at GMC.... But just recently bought a 1990 civic hatch and am loving it!
