Default Brand Spankin new, with about 5k to spend

Alright, right now i drive a 98 jeep and love it, but have been wanting a civic for quite some time. Im going to sell sometime in spring/summer and in the end hopefully end up with about 5k to spend on a car and some mods after a little saving. I know for sure that i want a 96-99 2dr coupe..but i am not sure what i should be spending on one? Also after buyinh the car itself what mods should be top on my priority list, keep in mind this is something ill be working on over the next year or so. Thanks for help in advance and if this is the wrong section i apologize.

I have a 97 dx 2 door coupe, it has about 114k miles on it, and runs like the day it rolled off the line. It would be a reasonable buy around 3-4k probably, with the mods I have on it.

a 96 - 98 2 door would be a reasonable deal I would say, anywhere between 3 and 5 thousand, depending on mileage. 100-125k miles, 4-5k would be a reasonable deal on an EX, I would steer clear of the DX though, unless you want manual everything and a non Vtec engine.

126-150k miles I would think 3.5 to 4.5k, depending on upgrades.

I think the EK's look awesome, and they have a wide variety of aftermarket add-ons.

If I had to suggest some external upgrades, I would think wheels, headlights/tail lights, maybe a lip kit, and if it tickles your fancy, a new grille.

If i was going with some internals, depending on what engine you have, the easiest and most frequently modded items are probably Intake and exhaust. Together they provide a vital purpose, and they might add some HP too, sweet.

I am just learning myself, so I would hold out for some other suggestions. Will be nice to have another coupe owner in the mix :-)

Good luck on sellin the jeep.

Yep Stu is right on. But i think hes talking in American money. Exhuast and Intake work great together if your engine cant breathe it wont be as fast. More air means more fuel, more air and fuel means more HP. So if you get intake youll have good air flow. Exhuast takes the waste out. which is vital. So start with I/H/E

or (its a long shot) try to find a 99-00 si. They have a lot more starting potential.

Or... buy a 2,000 dollar civic and spend the leftover on a swap.

don't sell the jeep, lift it and you will never go back.
