Buying Civic

what up guys, nice to be here. Im buying a 96 civic very soon, and they do bracket racing at the stadium thats 1 min from my apt. This will be my first project car, please, let me know any tips or products that will make this car a contender against other cars in the brackets. this is quarter mile drag racing - but legal. 2 times a month.

please, help me set up my civic.

RE: Buying Civic

Legal, well, technically speaking, you can't do anything to your car. Modifing your car in any way other than stock is "illegal". So you're from Cali. I hear when it comes to emissions, the rules are really strict.

Legal or not, here are some mods you can easily do to "increase performance."
-Cold Air Intake (or Short Air Intake, go for the CAI)
-Header
-Catback Exhaust
-Hi-Flow Cat
-Strut Bars, Tie Bars, or H-Brace, C-Pillar Bar
-Short Shifter
-NGK Spark Plug Wires
-Ground Wire Kit (debatable)
-Light Weight Wheels and Street Tires
-Lowering Springs/Coilovers (and camber kit)
-Lower control arms
-HID lights (j/k)
-Aluminum Radiator
-CF stuff (as long as it replaces metal things, i.e Hood, Fenders, Trunk)
-Drilled/Slotted Rotors

Okay that's all the easy stuff to do. I don't know how much you want to do, or how much of that you can do, do to legality issues. Who knows, you may want to go even further with performance Fuel rails, turbo/supercharger, or even an engine swap, or if it's not VTEC, a mini-me swap.
