RE: Can you remember your first time?
I have been reading import mags since I borrowed one form my friend in 8th grade. I really liked the cars they featured and promised myself I would one day have one. I drived a buick for the first 6 months or so of my liscence then got my 2000 ex 5 spd. I have since then been babying it and racing it and using most of my money for different upgrades.

My first was a night a couple years ago. My buddy Chris and I went cruising with his older bro in his grand am. It was just so cool doing 100 on the interstate and riding around with the stereo blasting. A few weeks later we went downtwon to some street races and i just remember lots of smoke and smelling really bad afterwards. It just made me want to know everything about cars.

my brother and i were waiting outside of a stereo shop for his system to get installed, and a sick import pulled up. honestly, i dont remember what it was. i think it was a 240, but my bro says it was a crx. we knew nothing about cars then. but it had a sweet exhaust on it, and so we went searching to get an exhaust for our Escort GT. that was the start of a long long road. i think i was about 13-14.

I only decided that I wanted to start working on my car like 3 weeks ago. i love driving and the whole idea of modding your car and making it look and run sick. i can pinpoint one particular thing that made me want to do it, but im an engineering major and i like the sort of thing.

Way back when, I was looking around on the internet, and I stumbled upon HowStuffWorks. I looked at the article on how engines work for no apparent reason, and I read the entire thing, and memorized it. For some reason it just struck an interest in me because I was amazed that there were so many different things involved in getting an engine to work properly. And from there, I got my license and learned that I like driving fast (duh), and ever since, I've been trying to go faster and get more power.

i grew up watching F1, WRC, and JGTC back in the Philippines when i was 12 or 13 then i started driving go-carts and i guess its second nature that i loved import cars or cars in general. fast and the furious influenced me a little bit and i got my first car a 91 integra when i was 16. now im 20 and i have a 94 Civic and a 85 Corolla GTS and i love them both...my only regret is not learning to work on cars back when i was 13.

I was never really into cars growing up. Fast and the Furious was my first taste of the import scene, but I didn't really get into it until my roomate got an exhaust on his civic last year. Then I started reading and researching online. And crashing my last car gave me an excuse to dig out the rainy day money and get a civic so I could start modding and such.
