Default Civic Ek 99 going mad - maybe ground issue & seems not running on all cylinders. g o

Hi Friends, I am actually going mad with my 1999 civic EK with the manual 3stage Vtec engine :-

1. Passenger's headlight suddenly went very low (orange liked) - electrician just added a short wire and hooked on the chassis & this was resolved. To note that when ai was having this issue, my left flasher was quick. But this issue is resolved.

2. Now, about 2 weeks ago, the car started es to run rough, trembling & having a 100cc motorcycle sound. It feels like am running on only 3 cylinders. When accelerating, it loses power with rough sounds, but the engine never goes off. Idle seems to be okay. Changed all spark plugs. I believe this is a grounding and/or electrical issue because i also know there were rodents (rats) around but can't seem to identify where to look.

Sometimes, the headlights issue I mentioned initially above do crop up again and then resolves by itself and also the horn doesn't works sometimes when pressing. Sometimes i switched my headlights on and off or switch off the engine off & on again and the horn problem is resolved.

And finally, if this may help -> couple of weeks back i used a wrench to disconnect my battery cables (positive one) & while unbolting the +ve cable, the wrench touched with the chassis & created a spark.. I donr know if this has something to do with the issue.

PLEASE PLEASE, HELP FRIENDS, AM BECOMING MAD WITH THIS & DONT WANT TO BE 'CONNED' & MAKE UNNECESSARY EXPENSES WITH LOCAL MECHANICS. THANKS LOTS IN ADVANCE 😏

you could have some serious issues to pick through with the rodents they chew through everything. so im also not going to suggest im a honda guru so im just going to go off my d16 for any suggestions i can give you. you said you changed the plugs how about wires cap and rotor? slight excessive moisture under the distributor cap will burn the points right off and will cause your symptoms. my engine has a ground top right and bottom left that go to the chassis. you would probably have other issues if one of those was a problem but thats where mine are. on my engine the coil is also located inside the distributor ive been told moisture can also cause damage to that. next do you have a check engine light on? if so have it scanned and post the codes.

Thank you. UPDATE :-
  1. I changed the rotor inside the distributor, still same problem
  2. The power loss deteriorated a little bit.
  3. I bought a new 02 sensor to change and see of it does any good. My issue here is that the original 02 sensor was 1 wire. The Universal Bosch I bought has 4 wires... I'll try to figure out how fit it as I understood the universal ones are designes to be modified.
Lastly I could not see any code, because when the engine was swapped into the car, I believe they did not connect or eliminated the check engine light
I went to a mechanic to scan, without scanning the lazy guu told me to unbolt my distributor and have it checked with a specialist and come back to him... Pfft am fed up!!!
