Looked at a 2003 Civic 1.7 cDTi yesterday (UK) and liked the car a lot. I am just unsure whether the engine is made by Honda or Isuzu and some of the reviews I have read suggest that I should avoid the Isuzu engines. I currently own a Focus 1.8 TDCi which is excellent engine wise and don't want to buy something which maybe won't be as reliable.

Can anyone advise whether the Civic engine is decent or whether I should stick with what I have (ignoring the Ford bit)
