Hey All. I'm new to these forums, though I've had my civic for a year. I'm 17 years old from northern New Jersey. My car is a 1997 Civic EX Coupe. It's basically 100% stock except for: My foglights are aftermarket, it has a factory spoiler, Viper Alarm/autostart system, Alpine sound system.

I'm interested in getting a cold air intake for it to get some better performance, and maybe an exhaust system(No coffee cans plz!) Any ideas on good brands? Does this one look good? >> http://www.slickcar.com/productdetai...ProductID=1477

Sounds good. That intake is a good brand intake, but i think it is too expensive. But hey if you want name brand stuff go for it.

 

Question, what gen is my 1997? It's got the amber taillights and I think 1999's and later had the clear taillights? So what gen does that make mine :P

Does anyone know the best way (not counting forced induction, too expensive!) to get my EX to, say, 160-170hp? Like each parts, approximate cost if you know off hand.

welcome to hcf the aem cai is a nice product but do you live in a rainy place if so you have the possibilaty of sucking water in your motor you might check a aem short ram .and for more proformance go with a header and exhaust we have a product reveiw section that will help you and you can use the search button .and your civic is a 1997 its a 6th gen hope this helps enjoy your stay
