Hello my name's Sean and I just got this neat 96 Honda Civic. Engines been replaced from what I'm told and it's pretty much been hacked up one side and down the other. I've never spent the time to actually fix a vehicle up to good running condition but just replaced bits and pieces here and there. However, that changes with this car.

I want to completely rebuild this car over the next year or so and figured I'd come to a community to figure out where I get started.

I need to be able to drive this car regularly during the week and plan to work on it during the weekends.

First I figured a tune up is in order but I pulled up the plugs and found oil on the boots which I believe means the valve cover gasket needs replaced. And it gas a cold idle problem (I thought the head gasket was wearing out so I was looking for signs on the spark plugs)

Ideas guides, any idea what specific engine this is?

B20B. Tranny is from a 96 Integra unless the VIN on the tranny would come up wrong. In a 96 civic body lmfao.

Killed the throwout bearing, so I had to sort out exactly what everything was.

 

Not a bad swap to work with
