HELP! Distributor cap mishap

I tried to find any previous posts with this problem but came up empty. This was pretty stupid of me, but I was throwing on some new plug wires and I took all the old ones off without noting which wire went to which distributor cap post. So what I am wondering is which post the shortest plug wire should go to. If you face the cap from the passenger side (left arm toward the firewall) I think the short wire goes to the top right post ( top two of the four, closest to the front of the car). Does anyone have a 2000 Civic SiR who can check to see if I am right. I don't want to bend a rod or something.

well if you work on your on car you need to pic up a HAYNES Repair Manual. It will tell you everything you need to know

RE: HELP! Distributor cap mishap

After talking to about 8 different dealerships giving conflicting information I finally got everything right for anyone interested. This is for a 2000 SiR, it may be different for D series engines. Firstly, the cylingers are ordered 1 - 4 starting from the drivers side (Rt. to Lt., NOT Lt. to Rt.). The post on the distributor cap labelled C goes to the number one cylinder (the longest plug wire). Then the firing order is 1-3-4-2 going clockwise around from the post labelled C. Cylinder four's wire is labelled A. Hope this helps someone.
