here to learn

what's up guys from SW Florida,

found this forum while searching around for honda information and in my past vehicle experiences I have learned the most from forums like this so I'm happy to have found it.

my current situation is this: I don't own a honda, or even a car. I have a 2000 mercury 5.0 V8 SUV that I love but it is killing me on fuel (aka 14 to 15 mpg depending on my foot)

So I made the decision that I want to get into a car within the next few months, but with my job and no other vehicle available I'll have to save up and buy something before I sell my SUV. So my plan is to buy an early 90's civic that needs some work (preferbly something under a grand) and get it going, then sell my suv and use that money to fix up the civic.

I know I'm going to want to do a motor swap and all of that, but as this will be my first time owning an import I need to do my research on what is what.

so...here I am :)

please sir buy a 1997 civic hatchback and replace the motor with a b18c1. the motor out of the acura GSR integra.
you wont even need to turbo it to be extreamly happy with driving it.
i had one that i burried the neadle on everyday.
and then sold it still running.

thanks for the advice, not really looking for a hatchback but they're more in my price range anyways. I'm having a hard time even in the swap section of this forum figuring out all the parts needed for each particular swap so I can get an idea of whats what and which one I would prefer to do.

I know this isn't the spot for this but if you could answer anyways.. what does it usually cost to turbo a honda?

RE turbo: that depends on everything
but for under a grand youre looking at a EF(88-91 civic) or maybe a 4dr EG (92-95 civic)
