Hey Everyone!

Hey!

Im 15 (dont bash me), i live in canada (WTF igloo's?) and i JUST got my first car. A '93 Civic cx to be exact, and im psyched! I've been thinking and brainstorming, and i think i have some sick plans for her! The only downside is, im a complete noob. I dont have a clue what im doing! I have the mechanical skill (My dads a certified automotive mechanic.) but neither of us have the 'civic know-how' regarding engine swaps, turbo's, exhaust etc etc, but i really want to get to know this stuff, broaden my horizons, expand my mind, and all that sappy ****. So if you'll all be patient with me, that would be awesome, and try not to get annoyed when i ask 'roll-your-eyes' kind of questions! Im looking forward to getting into the scene, and getting to know some real car enthusiest's! Thanks guys!:D

the search feature is a wonderful thing

not trying to be an as$ but everything you ask has been covered plenty of times on this board and just some simple searches will get you the answers you need

No.

Welcome to the forum.
Yea, you're gonna want to swap that engine if you want to make any power out of it. The one you have is reallyyyyyyy slow (it's an 8 valve, opposed to 16 like the normal engines).
Look into a mini-me swap. It involves taking the VTEC head of a Civic EX (D16Z6) and putting it onto your stock engine block (D15B8). Then, you get the ECU (engine's computer) that goes to the D16Z6 head (P28 ECU) and plug it in. Then you run 2 wires from two specific pins on the ECU wiring harness to the VTEC solenoid on the head, this enable VTEC to work. You will go from having (i think you have 90hp?) 90hp to 125hp.

Look in the DIY section for the DIY on the mini-me swap.
