Default Hey, New here. Also new to Civics

Hey guys I really wanna buy a Civic Hatch back like a 92-96. Im only 16 but I bought an El Camino when I was 15 and rebuilt the whole top end just to discover the block had a huge crack in it. Anyways Im sick and tired of that car and in the process of selling it.

Civics really caught my eye, especially the hatchback. Any things I should watch out for when buying one of these? Any advice will help. Thanks guys.

Welcome to the forum! The correct generation is 92-95 ("EG"). I would make sure to have the vehicle you want to buy (whenever you find that) looked over by a mechanic. Rear trailing arm bushings, timing belt, water pump, and receipts for general routine maintenance are always god things to ask about.

Yeah, I found out today about the EG's but thanks, It seems water pumps and timing belts are a common thing to go out on theses things.

Meh, the water pumps and timing belts are not prone to breaking anymore than anything else. However, if the timing belt breaks, there is a 99% chance of the motor being done for (valves making love with the pistons). Water pumps are mentioned alot since you are right next to the water pump when replacing the timing belt, so it is a good idea to do that at the same time.
