Whats up fellow Michigander. I won't ask you where you're from since everyone else did already.

Good luck with the project, and let us know what we can do to help. 10k can DEFINITELY put you behind the wheel of a very nice, powerful, well handling, yet still reliable car.

What are you planning on doing with the 10k? That could make a pretty damn good Civic.

Sorry to run off on everyone, Work likes to send me on trips all over the area.

I'm in Grand Rapids, I drive the silver 98 hatchback right now but that's going to my girl. We need to get rid of the car she's been using and abusing for the last 5 years. (anybody want to buy a 98 saturn SL1? )

Here's my build plan for the 95 hatch I'm hopefully buying Thursday, I'm planning on doing as much of the work myself as I can, but I have a few friends that can lend a hand.

(.5: learn how to drive a manual)

1: Bodywork (it has civic rust, but I'm handy with a migwelder and snips)

2: Rear disc brakes (already has decent rims, so I want to dump the drums)

3: adjustable struts, stiffer springs, nylon bushings, rear sway bar, front strut brace (handling is what made me love my civic in the first place)

4: rear-end a 94-97 GSR with my work truck and make off with its engine while nobody is looking, add a turbo with a low boost, probably fuss with the internals a bit, but I haven't done enough research yet on that aspect of the build.

5: drop in the engine and add the exhaust, fuss with the cooling system if it runs too hot

5.5: forgot.. short shifter

6: (big maybe) haven't decided on if I should go body kit or not... there is a subtle one with 'race' in the name I saw that sticks with civic design style... we'll see...

7: spend a week on bodywork agonizing over every tiny flaw, pick a color, and paint the body

Internal:

8: nice sound system, head unit, duel external amps, 6.5s, tweeters, and an 8" sub in a custom box

9: custom security system [sm=ts.gif]

10: gauges, nothing outside the original cluster though.

I think thats about everything but its constantly changing

I also plan on taking pictures of every step so stay tuned!

Sweet! I live in G.R. too!

If you need any help along the way through your project, I'd be glad to give you a hand. Also, I'll be doing a turbo install on my 99 Coupe in a few weeks. You should come check out the process, I could always use an extra set of hands.

Oh, and if you need help learnin' to drive a manual, hit me up, I'd be glad to show ya how to grab some gears

Posting your phone number on the internet isn't such a good idea. A better idea is to PM forty you number.

Stimpy, agent is right, that's why I edited your number out of your post. Don't want your number to fall into the wrong hands. But, I saved it in my cell so as the time grows nearer, I'll give you a buzz.

...Btw, what's your real name, or should I just ask for stimpy?
