Honda Civic HX
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site. I just bought my daughter a 1997 Hk. Can anyone tell me if this a good model or what. I bought a brand new civic in 1994, but lost it in a divorce years ago, i really miss that car. I paid $3700.00 for this one and it had 110,000 miles on it. Maybe they turned the mileage back but i really don't think so cause the car drives really good. The only problems are the windows.
They seem to go up and down very slowly. Any answers to the problem would be great.

hi, welcome to the forum. is the Hx an automatic or manual? i think Hx is a great model, great on gas mileage. for the windows try using some silicone lubricant on the window tracks, the part where the window moves up and down inside the rubber. add some inside the tracks and see if that helps.

hey welcome
thats the things about civics, they will run for ever, but little stuff breaks. Windows seem to be a weak point for civics, but anyways do what sfgiants said. Also i forget what it is but there is some other rubber part that might need to be replaced. It gets stretched out and will eventually cause the window to get stuck. Happened to both of my windows and it took a lil while to figure out that was the problem, so be careful its sucks having the window stuck down for a couple of days LOL

I used to have an 1994 Civic that i brought brand new and used the silicone and it did work. I also had an 2002 Accord, I also had to do the same for that model it worked as well. But its not working for this Honda.
I will keep putting some on for the next couple of days and see what happens. Thanks a lot.

My windows went down real slow, and the driver side fell out of track all the time. I bought a new window regulator on the driver's side, new weather stripping (passenger and driver), and sprayed silicone lube on the weather stripping everyday for about a week, and my windows work as good as new now. Good luck with the new car, I love EK's, and it's just icing on the cake that it's a 5-speed.
