Alright. I am turning 17 in the end of January and as a birthday present I will be getting a Honda Civic that I will be paying half the money for. I do not wish to spend much more than 12 k for the car alone if possible (I pay 6 k, parents pay 6 k). I want to keep the car classy so I will not be upgrading it into a racecar. Performance upgrades are going to be primarily Air intake and exhaust. I might add a different muffler if I want the car a little louder because I love the sound of the acceleration. I am either going to get a silver Civic and windows will be tinted black and 17-18" black rims will installed. Finally, I will install an in-dash monitor with a carputer, something I have been researching a lot on lately and think I will be able to handle.

Performance Ups:
Air Intake
Exhaust (maybe)

Exterior:
Rims
Window Tinting

Interior:
Carputer
Subs Speakers Amps etc.

Basically, I am not doing a hell of a lot of performance ups. I care a lot about the exterior. I live in a town where many kids drive benz's, beamers, and escalades as their first car so mine must look classy and presentable from the outside. I definately do not want a racecar looking car although I wouldn't mind if it performed as such xD.

So in conclusion, I wrote this thread so I could get your advise on what kind of car you think I should get. I definately do not want a hatchback and a 2 door is a plus. Exterior is important as well. I am not doing a hell of a lot of performance upping. I am also relatively new to cars, like I said 17 years old, so therefore I want a very reliable civic that will not require tons of maintanence.

Sounds to me like you want a Civic coupe Si Personally i like either mill$civic or Jake's... The difference. jake's is a 93-95 civic model whereas Mill$ is a later 96-99? model. Coupe. Muffler will be your fav upgrade cuase well. you feel like your driving a cooler car. and air intake is just to give you a tad more performance and looks wicked under the hood.
Just make sure the car looks clean and drives good. Good luck with the buying! Guys tell me if im wrong on this guy?

 

Well I just bought a new Civic and I can say I was really impressed with the 07 Civic EX Coupe when I was looking, really clean looking and has some nice addons.

Just my two cents. I don't really know too much about cars either!

Um with 12k you can get a lot of civics haha....but it seems like u are looking for something around the 96-00 models cuz there is a lot of stuff you can do to them.....IMO...

 

you can pick up a nice 99 civic SI for 12k. start looking around at those models, it will give you performance with a 2 door.
