hey everyone. I have been thinking about buying a honda civic...one with some power. but I don't know much about them. Whats what with engines?

What is the difference between a b18a k22? or a H22.. Im not sure what is what What has the most horepower? what is the ebst? what is most fuel effieciant? What are the ups and downs of these (vtec) engines? if someone could give me the basics.. much apreciated

if you have a large sum of money, then a k20 swap would be the best, low budget b16. if you are in the middle somewhere (3kish) then a b18c is the best way to go, tons of torque, plenty of horse, and all for bout 1/3rd of a k20 installed. H22's are nice for power but they are extremely heavy for eg/ef/ek and leave very little room under the hood. I have a b18c in a 97 civic and it moves well, add a turbo and you have yourself a 12 second ride running very little boost

The K20 is a vtec, and you cant put a B-16 head on a K20 block or vice versa.
