..sorry to be a noob.. but.. you can do that?? How much would something like that cost? Now FYI.. I Talked it over with my dad and the Del Sol isn't mine.. and he decided not to sell it. So I'm stuck to modding my car using just my natural income. Oh and.. according to my dad, the engine in the LX is actually newer than the one in the Del Sol.. I got the car from a guy who specialises in fixing up Hondas and supposedly he put a newer engine in it.. I don't relaly know how to tell what 'kind' of engine it is or anything.
Also.. y'all have any tips on what I should mod first? Like.. "oh it's best to get a custom cold air intake first" or something. Or maybe y'all could tell me what kind of stickers I could put on to make it run faster (J/K )

oh and thanks for the welcomes
Well, first you should find out what motor it is, that will give us a better idea of what you're working with. Easiest way to tell is to stand directly in front of your car (hood up of course), and look at the lower left hand front side of the engine block. There will be a little square flat piece with a series of numbers and letters stamped on it. For instance mine says D16Y8, which is a sohc 1.6 liter w/ VTEC. So, find that out, and start thinking of a long term goal for the car, and we'll be happy to help you with any problems you may have. Good luck, and most importantly, have fun!

Hey thanks alot you guys. I had a mechanic look at my LX and.. the cost for repairs.. just doesn't seem worth the effort. I'm all about working on a car and learning (cuz I know nothing as it is), but I'd rather just spend my money and buy a newer honda or something.

As it is.. The Del Sol is pretty much mine now. I'll go ahead and post this here, but I plan on making a new topic about it anyway.. But my question is regarding a transmission swap, which Civica mentioned. Anyone got an estimate as to how much that would cost? I think the Del Sol would be kinda cool if it were fixed up. I've seen a few pictures of them with kits and new paint jobs and newer engines.. even a guy at my work told me all kinds of stories about ppl who like to put new engines and stuff into civics. I'd be very interested in doing it.
