i have a 95 ex and i just put 17's on it and i was out in a parking lot practicing my Rpm's so i can see what is the best speed for my launch is ever since iv put the 17's on my steering feels really crisp and good only thing i dont like is the back of my car sits higher but back to the point every time i launch or spin any tire i get horrible wheel hop i thaugh mabey b.c the low speed so i dumped the clutch at 7000 and the tires broke loose the started hopping again today it was raining and i still had hop so i just dont under stand whats going on i have kyb ajustables i didint know if that would help me any i know i wanted them on to bring the back and front ends down like an inch or 2 but do you think it will help me with my wheel hop or should i just put the stock rims back on and would i be better off with a b16a for turbo or b18c1 if i get the c1 i plan on getting pistons to lower the compression that what so me kid told me i should do at the speed shop near me he has that setup in a hatch

 

1 more thing does any 1 else civic have a mild blow off sound when switching gears

 

the bov sound is probably an intake, is your aftermarket? ive heard some do that. as for your wheel hop, you need motor mount inserts. they are polyurethane pieces that fill in the spaces in your motor mounts, making it stiffer. what happens is the motor starts bucking in the range allowed by your stock mounts, and if it keeps going, it starts pulling the weight off the front tires, then loading them up again as it rocks. thats what causes your hopping. once you install the inserts, it stops alot of that play, helping the tires stay solid on the ground.

 

New motor mounts should help you out. Don't go cheap on em either, since they're not that expensive.
