Just got my stolen Civic back, need some improvements

Hey all,

Not sure how wide this forum goes, but I'm in Portland OR and just got my Civic back after being stolen for over a month. After this experience I recommend an alarm or the club as Honda Civic's are one of the most stolen cars out there.

Any I own an 88 hatchback DX sweet little gold ride with just under 150k miles if you can believe it. I've got a few problems I want to fix on her before even thinking about mods or tuning.

Tires- any recommendations on a new set? I do like a flat black for rims, is it ridiculous to spray paint my current rims? Working with a tiny budget as I had to pay impound fees, stolen battery, broken window, interior rained on and some other gross stuff I think :/

Window - Driver's side window was stuck all the way down in the door. I took the door panel off last summer trying to fix it as one day it got off track and slid down. Could not figure it out but got it rolled up and kept it up. Think it may have been broken and replaced with the wrong size. Went to an auto body guy who said he fixed it and glued it on track and after waiting over a week for the glue to dry it was still off track when I started to roll it down.
I hear there are a lot of problems through word of mouth with other older Honda owners. If anyone has a trusted mechanic near Portland OR I'd love to hear about it as I can't afford a run around.

Thanks!
