If your patient you can find a good deal. I bought my 98EX Manual for 4500 with 104k on it, all it really needed was a set of tires! However I would hold out for an SI model, my car runs great but the only thing I fell comforable runnin is a shopping cart, or maybe my riding mower! LOL

If I had 3 grand this is what I would do. I would find a 92-95 hatch with no motor or tranny. Then I would buy the best motor I could with the money left over. You can find these cars cheap with out motors. MY find has a SI for sale right now for $700 and there was a cx sold a couple of weeks ago for $650.

No offense but do not buy that car for that price, way overpriced espcially if he wants to swap, don't spend the extra money for an ex. You could probably find a 6th gen dx for that price EASILY. Do you want a hatch or a coupe or what?

if i were you, id try to get an si. i dont know how much you will get for your other car, but that plus 3 grand should get you somethin pretty nice.
