I am driving a 92 4 door, I replaced the worn d15b7 last summer and dropped in a d15b. The car runs great and is tons of fun to drive, but it's time to move on. I recently picked up a 97 si that has a d16y8 in it, but the head is blowing exhaust thou the top and the cheezy automatic has no first gear. I bought the car for a song with plans on replacing the motor and trans but I don't have a ton of cash to thow into the car at this time. I was thinking of swapping the d15b into the 97. My question would be should I put the d15b into the car for the time being or should I just replace the head and tranny thats in the car now ? Regardless the cheesy automatic has to come out. I have a extra 5 speed kickin around off the d15b7 that I could use. Any feed back would be great.. Thx

 

Swap out the motor and install something worthwhile, like a B series, or H or K.
