Default New Guy Here

Hey I'm Dave in Harmony FL. I don't currently own a Civic, but I'm looking for one. I need a car to get back and forth to school and work, and my truck blew a head gasket and the head cylinder basically disintegrated. I'm looking for a late 80's or early 90's Hatchback preferably, and hoping to pick it up for $1500ish, really can't go higher than that. Not really afraid to fix her up, I just don't want to do anything major on the motor, and REALLY don't want to do anything with the transmission.

I'll try to post pics if I acquire one.

Whats up? Tell us some more about yourself. How old are you? What do you drive currently?

I'm attending FIT with a major in Astrophysics, I'm part of the Chi Phi fraternity here, I'm kind of a shy guy till you get to know me, grew up in Orlando, don't really speak much, I like working on cars. I throw darts, I juggle, I do origami, and I'm starting to surf. I used to drive a 1987 Toyota Pickup with a carburated 22R. I'm currently driving nothing, my truck totaled itself last Tuesday and I haven't had a chance to replace it yet. Parents Drive a 2005 Honda Odyssey and I really like it, but I want something smaller, hence why I'm liking the looks of the Civics I'm seeing for sale around here.

Welcome. You'll probably wanna look into a 92-95 hatch. You'll want to look for an EX trim level which has all the power options and the moon roof.

I was actually thinking about getting this one: http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/1661426128.html

The flat black is a bit to dark IMO, but a few cans of yellow spray should fix that up. I Googled the 92-95 EX hatchback and its a pretty sweet looking car. I'll definitely see if there's any in my area for my budget.

I was also thinking about maybe getting this awesome little Honda: http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/1669229062.html
^Just because it would be cool. I'll have to learn how to drive a manual transmission though, I've only done it once and it turn my friends Hummer into a mechanical bull.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I know I wanted a hatchback, but I'm liking the looks of this car:
http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/1681331231.html

Exterior looks nice, interior looks pristine. Originally owned by a woman so it probably doesn't smell like mud, feet and BO like all the others I've looked at.
