Hey, y'all! (Yes, I really said "y'all") My name is Jillian, I'm a prospective Honda owner. Kinda not by choice at this moment in time (I'm in the process of buying a house, and really can't afford a car right now), but when this happens (see attached pics), you really don't have any say. Yes, that's snow in the first pic, and even though I'm a Florida born-and-raised girl, and this was my first time driving in snow (out of the 3 years I've been in NC, this was the only time I'd had to work on a snowing day), the wreck was NOT my fault. Stupid kid driving mommy's car. Good thing they have good insurance, makes live (a little) easier.

I'd love an '08 Element EX (Atomic Blue Metallic, if you must know ), but just won't be able to afford the used one I found for $17K with what little I'm gonna get from the Fockus, so I've been looking for anything reliable that I'd be able to afford. How does an 03 Hybrid Civic for under $7K sound? I'm looking around to see what type of problems and special maintenance issues the Hybrids have, but haven't found much on the forums. Anyone know which particular section I should be looking in?

Were you okay? Cars can be fixed, hopefully you didn't get hurt. I don't think too many people know much about hybrids on here, but hopefully you'll get the help you need!

Yeah, I'm fine, and the other guy has insurance (which is sending me a check to cover the deductible *MY* insurance company is going to be charging me), but it's been almost 2 weeks and I'm *STILL* waiting to see what they're going to do with my car. Anyone have any idea how long this usually takes? I've never been in a wreck before, so I have no clue what's going on.

Welcome, always sucks totalling a car, but now you can move onto something new.

Are you interested in the hybrid for the mileage aspect, or otherwise? That mileage comes at the cost of performance, and kills the fun factor. I've seen Civic hybrid specific websites, but can't recall them off hand.
