Proud New Owner of a Civic 2006EX Coupe

So I'm the guy who wanted to go down to Texas to buy the new civic. Link Here It turns out carsdirect.com does not guarantee the price that caught my eye ($1100 cheaper than NYC). No guarantee means more headaches with dealerships so instead I took the hit to my wallet and bought the car here in New York (actually CT, only dealership with silver on black in stock).

My newest dilemma is getting a bike rack which is ironic since the car should replace bikes but since my gf and I enjoy biking we plan on road tripping to distant lands in find of awesome bike trails. Are there bike racks for 06 civic coupes?

Probably the best type is one of the racks that go on the roof. Thieves tend to stay away from them a bit more because they are up and in plain sight of anything. Since the bike is up top, you don't have to worry about other vehicles hitting the bikes in parking lots.

I don't know all the brand names, but Thule comes to mind.

I went to Thule and went through their vehicle selection link but they don't have a selection for a 2dr civic. Is there something wrong with putting a bike rack on a coupe?

It's probably because a bike rack is considered to be more of a family item, and a coupe isn't considered a family car, so it's low on the priority list.

congrats on the new ride. i really like the new ex's. i was at the dealership a few weeks ago getting a new key cut (locked the keys in my car again!) and a salesman was trying to get me to sit in one, i wouldnt do it but i looked. they are very nice in and out. he tried to tell me it had 240 hp tho and i called him on it. he quickly took it back and said it has 140 hp. anyway still a sweet looking ride!

congrats on the buy! im glad you didnt go to texas. with the hurricane and storms a lot of the cars are flood damaged so it was probably better that you just paid extra. as with the bike rack i would go with the roof mount. thule is a good brand thats what i use for my snowboard rack. for fitting on a 2 door you need to get something i think its called a short roof kit. or something like that. but anyways both mounts go in the front door since there isnt a rear door, and then extension poles go to the back of the roof. ill try to hook you up with a link soon.

Thats adelleda. I've been looking into the Thules and yakima but they are quite expensive... A bike rack is going to cost me 300+ dollars.. haha . I guess i'm going to start hitting ebay.
