questions on engine swap :) plz help
I have a 2004 civic ex. I am working on an engine swap since my car is automatic and plus I would like more power as well. So I am working on swapping my civic engine and can not decide which engine to swap it with. Could any one give me some suggestion on which engine would be best to put in my car. I have about 3k to spend on this project. I need an engine that could fit as well and if anyone has experience on swapping an engine I would like to know how it went. If there were any problems after swapping the engine. I was thinking about an 2004 Si Engine.
Does anyone know how much a 2006 Si engine is?
Thank-You

First off... WELCOME TO HCF!!!!
Well the 2004 EX has a DOHC vtec i believe a b16 so that should have enough power if you are staying NA. A 2006 SI has a K series engine a K20 (from a civic SI) which will run you about 5k just for the engine and about another 2k for the swap if you arent doing it yourself. I would suggest investing the 3k into your current engine maybe a tranny swap, or you could boost it (supercharger or turbo). I would also check out the swaps section a little bit lower in the forum. Good luck with your project.
