Raintown GenIV driver
Just registered. I can see that this is a much more happenin' place than, um, a certain other Civic forum out there. I have re-habbed a GenIV ('88) hatch that I got for free99. It was a recovered stolen that the owner gave to me. Had been sitting for a year and a half with a dead battery and license. Idiots tried to steal it again before I could go get it. Once they realized how stupid they were, they kicked the taillights out and left. Lots of work cleaning the interior out, since tweekers had stolen it. One jump start and a screwdriver later, it was idling like it was driven yesterday. Cool. It runs great, considering, and it gets the usual 35MPG after 168k. Armstrong (manual) steering and a four speed. Talk about retro! Since reviving it, I put a K&N in the box. I have a Maremont cherry bomb glass pack (yeah, I'm old school alright) for the pipe, and a BroSpeed 3" tip. Bought some 15" Primax 772s for it. Just looking for tires now. Mounted some PIAA driving lamps in the front bumper and fabbed a polished aluminum expanded metal grille. Of course, I have an alarm and a Club on it, 'cause I don't want to go look for another free Civic. Glad to be here.
