Default RenÉK EJ9 - EC8 Introducing himself.

Hi all,

I'm René living in holland and im also member of the local club for about 2 years.
I joined because i'm interested in what the rest of the world does with there Civic.

My pride:

An EJ9 as slow as money can buy '97 civic hatch.
She is black and soon ready for the circuit.

This is the way it's going to look.
Some smooth changes because it's a photo taken just before she got striped.
I dont exsacly follow a style, Fuction way over form!
And why i try to make a underestimated D-series a bit stronger, I'm curious and the engine isnt the only inportant factor of the car. If it will work out as i planned it must get around the 160whp with a N/A 1400cc SOHC engine.
Boy i'll smile when I pass some cars with over 2 liters on the track

The engine when the work is done:
Start with a stock D14A3
-Build By Deckers motor-revisie
-D16z6 cilinderhead
-Flowed
-OMI valves
-OMI valvesprings
-OMI retainers
-OMI camgear
-Crower cam
-ARP Fastners
-PW:JDM heatshield gasket
-JV engineering individual throttle bodies
-not shure what injectors i need... something right of a motorbike
-K&n filter
-1300 cc honda pistons
-Balanced crankshaft
-A/C and P/S pulleys are turned off
-Fidanza lightweight flywheel
-Exedy stage 1 clutch set
-s20 1.3 gearbox
-Moroso Oil pan
-eCtune tuned
-Fuel pressure regulator
-Oil cooler + Oil filter relocator
-Auto meter Oil press + temp gauges
-Auto meter Water temp gauge
-DC sports 4-2-1 header
-SRS catback (g50)
-L-tec Heatwrap (30 meters)
-Innovate motor mounts

I guess thats it.

Suspension:
-Tein flex coilovers
-BuddyClub camberkit front
-Skunk2 camberkit rear
-Skunk2 rear locator arms
-D2 Toekit
-ASR subframe reinforcement
-EG subframe
-DC2 anti-swaybars
-DC2 front tiebar
-PW:JDM 3 point strut
-PW:JDM crossbar
-DC2 steeringhouse
-Polyurethane Bushings

Exterior:
-PW:JDM window visors
-PW:JDM washers
-PW:JDM windscreen banner
-OMP towhook
-Hoodpins 4 so the hood can pop off.
-OEM headlights (made the chrome part black)
-Front lip spoon stlyle
-Rear lip typeR
-Holes in the bumper for air intake and 2 for brake coolinghose
-Golden eagle diffuser
-5Zigen pro racer GN+ wheels
-Yokohama Parada spec2 tires
-D1 spec lugnuts
@ the track: Rota grid + Yokohama Advan

Interior:
-OMP seats
-OMP steeringwheel
-OMP 6 point seatbelts
-Homer Simpson
-Everything what i dont need is removed.

Brakes:
-EK9 brakecilinder
-Willwood brake regulator
-Willwood bigbrakekit
-Steel brakelines
-Ferodo brake fluid
It's not complete yet.. still need to sort out what i need.

-Vti diskbrakes at the rear with
-brembo disks
-ferodo pads

That's it for now.

My EC8 a 4th gen hatch is almost stock and it will remain that way

The EC8 just have to take me where i'm going and i also love the car just like the other one.

Engine: d13b1 i think. (no catalyst)
I'm thinking of switch the gearboxes to the one that used to be under the EJ9
economy
And i don't rush on the road so it saves a bit money driving 120km/h @ 2000RPM

75hp is enough on the road.

Greetings
René

Welcome to the site! That hatch already looked nice before, I can only imagine when you get done with it. I like the fact that you built the single cam rather than just taking the easy route and putting a swap in it.

My pride! the build D14!
It's a shame that the pistons cant be seen trough the tape..
the pistons come over the deck so the cam needs to be a custom one.

Cilinderhead is also ready pics will follow...

The Intake manifold is also ready but I have some pics of it.
40mm throttle bodies from EFI Hardware.

The brakes are finaly in Holland so those will be fitted soon.
I'm going for big brake from wilwood because they fit 15" wheels.
Atleast I hope they do.
With the brake system there come custom brakelines and a 1"brake cilinder

There is an ASR brace on the way to handel the JDM DC2 swaybars.

Cosmetic the car will still be like it was before. Except for the wheels and a set of bumperlips.

Eventualy the engine will get tuned with neptune.

I guess it's before summer that this car makes his first steps

Greets,

wow that looks like a pretty good build. looks like a lot of fun to completely strip down the vehicle and start from scratch. hopefully I can do that once I get done with school.

looking forward to progress

Long time no see...

I haven't sitting sat still all the time,
the civic is still not ready tough.

Since a couple off weeks I desided that I'm not going to bring the car on the road again. It's going to become circuit only!

Because of some more mod's I'm broke.
So when I have money again I can go further...

To do's
- Custom dash (almost done!)
- Custom rear wing (Is going to look hardcore! )
- Cilinderhead back on the block
- ITB setup install
- Custom half-size exhaust with will end halfway under the car. (save weight en suppress sound.)
- Need some welds on the rails for the seats.

Last weekend i was have fun with my daily EC8!!
Driving an Auto-x circuit on a event in Holland (Japanse autosport festival)
http://www.youtube.com/user/Spiethst.../0/1-RKs5zd6Ak
Sooo much fun!

Greets!
