sparking at terminal

Hi Im new to the honda world and i have ran into a problem. I jus pulled out my old d16b out of my 93 hatchback and replaced it with a b20 i got da engine bay painted and now im reattaching the wires and hoses. Now time to connect da battery it starts sparking seriously to the point that its melting the metal on the battery. What are some problems that can cause this?
