ok i have a 95 honda civic dx and i would like to put a v-tec in it. what would be the best vtec engine and do i need the computar or just the engine help me out

 

well, you dont need to do an engine swap, just swap the head witha vtec head and then you will need the ecu/harness...and the vtec silnoid. but if you do swap, go for a b16 or b18c1 (or c5 but good luck) you will need the engine...ecu (computer) harness, as well as shift linkage, and other random small parts that you may need to have fabricated.

Don't forget that if you swap you need the tranny, and axles, motor mounts, and a whole bunch of other stuff too... but if you want the BEST engine with Vtec... then i would have to suggest either the K24a4 of K20A2... but good luck with those a swap with one of those is like $5K just for parts, then labour
