newbie 1995 honda civic si
Hey All,
Newbie here, east coast canada, just bought a 1995 Honda civic si, purple/gray metalic color, no air, no electric doors or windows, no mags, but do have original honda wing and electrical moon/sunroof, all stock, 289,000kms, no rust, all highway driving, 3rd owner, 2nd owner was/is my friend, car in very good condition. no mods done at all, xcept for speakers, cd radio (honda radio died years ago), cliford alarm, and those true blue light bulbs or bright whites, but that's it. this is a good project car. Looking forward to working on it next summer.
PS: the true blue light bulbs installed by my friend, melted out the socket/reptacle, so i had to cut out the old ones, and splice in new sockets, very inexpensive repair, but time consuming, as i did not feel like removing the front bumper just to be able to remove the darn headlights, so i worked out of the engine compartment.

RE: newbie 1995 honda civic si
Hey guys thanks for the welcome.
I would like to start with handling, suspention, brembo type brakes, better wheels than my current yokohama's, want to see if i can swap out the drums in the back for all vented discs. As for the engine, since it does have 180,000miles, i would want to see how far i can push it with add ons (air induction/ chip swap/etc) to see how long it will last before it dies. it would be nice to have an i-Vtec160/170hp engine in there for sure, becuase this candian built Si/ US EX model coupe, has got 125 hp max. The fact that it doesn't have air or electric doors and windows makes the car lighter, so i can live without that. i mean jut in the engine compartment i have about 1 foot by 1 foot of empty space, where the air conditioner radiator would have been.
We will se what time and money can afford.
i am not necesarily looking for the esthetics part, such as having a "rice-rocket", i would very much like to have a stock looking car from the outside, what i refer to as my "johnny-rocket"...get it?, meaning that people think it's nothing when they look at it, but once it moves, you would be able to tell that the car’s been modified. Mind you i really love the look of the 1995 Honda Civic EX coupe US model, from the Fast and the Furious, and from what i saw of your car pic/signatures, they are awsome! I seen some real nice paint jobs here! Honda's really are the new north American muscle car's replacement. heck, with 1.47$ per liter here, i think having a beefed up 4cyl makes sense than a 6 or an 8 cyl. Plus the colors schemes, graphic art, and customizing is limitless.
