VTEC

I have recently purchased a 02 Civic Ex coupe, not my first civic, my Question is, I have put a short ram intake on my car and I have been unable to hear an audible difference in the intake sound when the VTEC engages, I have had a 93 coupe and the VTEC was very audible on that one, granted the intake plenum is totally different than the 93, is the VTEC just not audible on this year or is my VTEC not engaging?

RE: VTEC

Vtec is not that loud on the sohc engines. But you should be able to hear the difference.
Especially with an aftermarket intake, it makes the engine scream more.

yeah, I've heard that sohc vtec's don't have that roar that most dohc vtec's have...

don't rule out the fact that ur vtec isn't engaging, u should get it checked out, just in case.

RE: VTEC

i remember when i had my d16y8 in and when my vtec kicked in, it was not loud at all

on the b16a2 its very loud and i can tell a difference. you might want to just check your vtec to make sure it is engaging.
