depends on your driving, long distances get thicker oil. i drive a lot and i use 10w40 so that i can keep the oil press up. you should b getting around 10 pounds of pressure for every thousand rpms
How do you measure this?

if you get an oil pressure guage, it will read the pressure. i havent put one on a civic yet, i had one on my grand am, and there was a threaded plug in the back of the block, i unscrewed that and got the right size fitting for the hole. and it read the pressure

I wish i could use reg oil. I have to run synthetic oil because my turbo will break regular oil down much too fast, as it tends to get real hot.

I've heard many many many people recommend Mobile 1 for Hondas, alsoNEVER use Fram filters (I just learned this recently but it has been re-affirmed by a ton of sources!) I picked up a Mobile 1 filter.

I've got a '02 Si Hatch and was recommended 5w30, but the manual says 5w20 in addition to the fact that the guy at the auto parts store acted like he literally wouldn't have sold me the 5w30 after I told him what it was going in... I have no idea why he was so adamant about it.

I've also heard conflicting reports about starting to use syn in a motor thats used to reg/blends. I've heard many people swear it will kill your rings, and I've also heard several import mechanics tell me its a story someone pulled out of their @$$. I'd love to know for sure, this is just what I've heard.

IMHO factory oil pressure gauges were useless anyway, usually nouseful labels or scale, if you need to know due to mods, FI, etc then you need an aftermarket one anyway...

I took 10 cents and threw 2 in 5 directions!
