What is this thing on the light panel?

I recently bought a 2006 Civic EX with out Navigation. There is a small speaker looking thing between the Sun roof button and the light switch on the celing with what looks like an LED next to it. It reminds me of a microphone is some other cars. Does any one know what this is? Thanks.

It maybe a way to turn off/on the audio systems ability to increase the volume to overcome road/wind noise. I may be wrong though as I have only been in a 06 once for a 30 minute test drive.

lol...my buddy had one of those Clarion Joy Ride Nav systems back in the day....he programaed it with a sexy female voice and she answered to "women'. he would say "sing" and it played cd's. Then she would respond "is that the way you like it" :D
