Default cost of turbo install

hey all im going to be selling some stuff and im probley going to end up with about 2,300 or around there and i found a greedy turbo kit for 1,400 on some site. my question is how much would it cost to have a mechanic shop put in a turbo for me im not very mechanical at all so i wouldnt want to be experimenting on such an expensive and sensitive item

thanks for any help

Performance shops are going to rape u on installing a full kit. The shop i went to to get a price charged 70 per hour and they said the total cost would range from 500-900 depending on how long it took. i was able to find a mechanic who did work on the side to install my full kit for 370. if i were u i would try to find someone with mechanical experience to put it on and not a shop. good luck!!

turbo kits arent hard to install at all.. most of it is just time cosumeing. i would ask so of your friends ( if they have ventured into turbo'd hondas) and do it all as a group. easy and cheap

usually it gets tapped into the oil pan directly down from where the turbo is mounted and about 3/4-1inch down from the top of the oil pan flange.

if u install it urself i will provide u with as many pics as u want. I installed my own kit, its not too hard, just tedious.

Im in the same boat as jjones. I dont know a whole lot about engines or mechanics of a car in general. But I do know a good bit about how honda motors are setup. I have been reading constantly for about 6 months about turboing a civic. I was thinking about trying and install my setup in a couple of weeks when I finally have everything together. Do you guys think its something I could pull off if I got some good instructions and pics from some of you guys? I know there are alot of you that installed turbos yourselves but Im assuming you guys are pretty knowledgeable about cars. I just dont want to get a good way into it and find out that Its a whole lot harder than it seemed. Let me know what you guys think.
