First of all you need to get rid of the auto transmission before you go turbo, it's hard to chip and work an auto ECU correctly, I'm not even sure myself how it's done. After that, your T3/T4 turbo at even 6-8psi may push upwards of ~200whp, your tranny is not going to respond well to that AT ALL.

Just think about it.

way to crush his dreams. soviet.... no, you could take it to a good tranny shop and have it race preped, that would take care of the power handling problem, but im not sure about setting shift points and what not...but id rather have a 5 speed myself, i hate autos... thats just my opinion.

^ I think the cost for that would be outrageous, in the thousands at least. That is, if you could find someone to do it for an automatic Honda.

I'm not crushing his dreams, you're solution alone would cost him stupid amounts of money. It would honestly be easier to just convert it to manual. And like I'm saying, I don't know how OR if he could correctly TUNE his setup, as it's difficult to use an auto ECU with a chip and still make it function correctly with the auto ECU.

You mean like how it blew up, lol.

Because his stock oil pump took a dump. It had nothing to do with his auto tranny.

^ It was untuned too, and he was pushing 6psi out of a greddy kit. He just wasn't anywhere NEAR what that T3/T4 is going to move at the same psi. Just from what I've seen, the torque converters can hold about twice the power they're built for, which means around ~200whp is going to start putting some real stress on it. Not to mention, he's going to be making an *** load of torque that tranny has never seen before. Even IF the tranny will hold the power, that still doesn't take away the fact that it's very difficult to tune it correctly using an ECU and still staying within his budget.

Without a tune, he will inevitably and unarguably blow up that engine sooner than he would like to.

I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying it's not reasonable. Automatic tranny repair is expensive as hell, he could EASILY convert that Dseries to manual with a little research and $150. I just don't think it's worth his salt to blow his engine, auto tranny, or god forbid... both!
