Roto Date 1/14/2008 12:46:57 PM you two postwhores have anything better to do than scare people off? How about posting links instead of bashing?
Im pretty sure our intentions were not that severe. Flip and Greddy_civic made some valid points. The search option is here for a reason. If people arent going to take advantage of it, then why bother having it listed as an option? Oh thats right, because this free .asp forum has a default setup.

You call us postwhores, yet I dont see you posting any links to help this individual out. Eat your own words pal. I dont care if you are a contributing member, that does NOT give you the right to come in and start throwing the name-calling around.

FlipHKD720 Date 1/14/2008 12:56:41 PM well heres alot of what you'll need, this might help too, this too. For a compression test, use this DIY, and if all the numbers are close, your engine should be in good shape. Just about 200 hp would be safe on your d16y8, but you could atleast get some new headstuds to avoid headlift, which happens under boost sometimes. ARP makes some and they seem to be pretty common. For tuning (which is the most important part of your turbo setup), you're going to need to convert back to OBD1 and have it tuned with Crome, Neptune, Uberdata, Hondata (which is a bit more in-depth), etc., or oyu can get a piggyback that wont be as good as an OBD1 tune, but might do the job too (Greddy Emanage, AEM makes one too, etc.), AEM also makes a standalone system called the EMS and it offers awesoem engine control, but its super expensive. Help a little more?

Also keep in mind when tapping your oil pan, to make sure there arent any leaks! Thats one of the biggest problems I usually see.

And who are you may I ask? Looking at your mods I say you shouldn't even post here as you don't even know what a turbo looks like, pal

Keep proving my point, child. This is easy.

And to correct your previous statement. I do actually know what a turbo looks like and get this....I even know how they work! It must be the 15+ motor rebuilds, or the 4+ complete restoration projects, or hell it may even be the degree that I earned when I graduated from MMI. In case you are unfamiliar with the acronym, it stands for Motorcycle Mechanical Institute.

Unlike you and your childish bull****, I actually have something to contribute to this site. So **** off little boy, go find somebody else to play your games with.

How does graduating from a MOTORCYCLE school make you an expert in anything automotive?

lol, you guys are all great, makes me laugh...

but yea, going to need engine management, get an obd2B-obd1 conversion harnessp28 and a chipped ecu basemap setup for your injector sizes so you can get yourcar to the tuner.

if you want it done right and safe on a budget, your basically looking at no less than like $1200, and thats HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS of digging up bargains. ask flip, his project been going on for what? like 4 years now? and its almost complete i think isnt it? but hell, hes doing it cheap

other things your going to need besides the basic turbo kit is, Clutch, maybe headstuds depending on if your over 200whp, gauges, suspension (unless you like to see your wheels hop and your rear end squat), and dont buy cheap! buy used before cheap please

im personally have a 3500 dollar turbo kit, but after everything else to make the car safe to handle the power puts me up to 9000... its not a cheap hobby at all, read the stickies at the top fo the turbo section, they tell you exactly what you need to get turbod, but trust me, there is ALWAYS something else you can buy, i found that out the hard way
