Default which engine?

hey guys, as you can see im new to this whole thing. basically a friend of mine had a civic and he put a b18c into it. and i was having a look into that and thought if i can put a b18c into it and then turbo charge it it would be great. also i saw the b18c-r (type-r) engine. what if i turbo charged that.
anyh suggestions or recommendations on these projects?
im totally new to this, just looking for some advice. im looking for a quick and fun ride, not a 10 sec car. would a b16 turbo charged do the trick ?

greatful for any advice

You have a lot of learning to do my friend. Most of the questions you are asking have been answer a hundred times on this forum already. Just use the search button and you can find out just about anything you want to know. What chassis are you planning to put all this into? If you only want a fun daily driver I would just go with a b18c1 GSR motor and once you have learned alot about boost, maybe then you could consider adding the turbo. Just take it one step at a time. Good luck.

+1 Search ftw!

and i agree, you really shoudltn consider boosting (turboing) until you've done alot of research, but a boosted B series will always do the trick if you want a fun daily drive. Research some more, wikipedia works and Google is your best friend too. Search around here on HCF, theres lot of good info too. Once you know whats up, then consider boosting, and any questions you cant find by searching feel free to post.

Imight wouldgo with a b18c1 GSR motorif I could start from scratch all over again but I have a boosted b16 andI absolutely love it. You wont be upset with any B series motor it really just depends on how much your going to be looking to spend when the time comes.

go with a b18b(cheap) with a b16 tranny and boost it to 260hp and that will be more than enough for you. all for under 3000 for everything
