ive got a b16a turbo at the mo. its goin in for a bit of surgery in the next few weeks built 1.8 bottom end etc. was just wondering would it be better to stay with the b16 gearbox or upgrade to b18 . would their be a difference in ratios etc

 

I know that the tranny on the si is geared so that when you are cruising at 70 your tach is jumping up to about 4 grand. I think that tranny from a b18 car like an ls would be better in the long run. but the si tranny is geard for acceleration

 

SI tranny for drag racing
LS tranny for gas milage and to take advantage of a brod tq band
GSR tranny is a good mix of both
