Default how much hp

first of all i am new to forced induction so be easy on me. i have a 2000 civic ex and i am about to purchase a turbokit i was wondering how much wheel hp can my car hold without frying anything on stock internals

it depends. If you are getting it professionlly installed, I highly recomend you get it profesionally tuned. You could be slamming an easy 200whp on stock internals with a good tune. tune tune tune.

ok. thanks alot. that helps. so does that include an intercooler installed? or would it be more whp if there is a intercooler in the mix?

You'll want an air to air intercooler.

well tell me what is the difference between an air to air and a regular intercooler and where is the best place to get one. by the way do you have any suggestions on turbo kits

greddy makes good beginner kits but you need an intercooler id search on ebay for the intercooler

JRC intercoolers are the $hit. Where do u live extreme civic? If its in NJ I know a pretty good guy that will help u install and learn about turbos for the cost of beer and food.

And air to air intercooler is a "regular intercooler". It basically looks like a radiator and acts like one too. The boost air comes out of the turbo and flows through the intercooler when the heat is transferred to the fins and then to the air that is passing through the fins... thus cooling the air.

Two points to remember:

When you compress a gas it heats up, and when it expands it cools off. As you're compressing that air in the turbo, it's heating up so you need to cool it back off.

The more dense the air, the better.
