We don't have required emissions testing here so I am not really familiar with what would make you pass or fail.

The precision turbo, if it's the one I think it is, will look like this:

that brand is gunna have the name stamped on all of theirs i bet.

Thanks for all your help man. Ill update tomorrow on how it goes. probably a long shot but do you know of a site that is a "so you bought a aftermarket turbo'd car, what to know" type thing? hahaha

like the stuff you were saying about watching the boost gauge and letting it idle, etc

That pretty much covers it I guess... there are some other things... mainly just monitor your gauges well. If it has a boost gauge, make sure you watch for any abnormal boost pressures, boost spikes, etc. If it has an oil pressure gauge watch for any below-normal oil pressures. Things like that. As long as you pay attention to the car it should be fine. Some people tend to forget that cars require maintenance and don't even know what their gauges mean other than the speedo and gas gauge.

drove this one today. Wasnt as fast but the seller is a lot more of who id want to deal with. it does have a ebay turbo on it though. haggling on prices with him.. if you see anything seriously wrong besides the crappy turbo let me know.

This one is kind of junk looking to me.

Lots of parts on there without the brands typed out... rotors, pads, springs, camber kit, blow-off valve

The other car sounded a lot better

the first one i posted.. the guy got wierd today. i said it must pass deq, he was supposed to take it in today. told me they were closed mondays. i checked, hes right. ok

then he says it will pass dont worry i checked with ?? (some shop) . yeh, so they know that it will pass emissions? yeh right. there is even a dB test. you fail if its too loud. so i told him that as is without knowing i can register it i will pay you 2k (lol). i was meaning that i am not going to buy it without that, wasnt serious. then he got all a-hole ish on me and said basically fine then good luck on your purchase, peace. oh when looking at it i also noticed 2 hoses not connected to anything. that could make big emissions problems. he denies that. says i must be thinking of someone else. UHH i hadnt even looked at any others at that point. it was his, i know what i saw

at this point i wouldnt trust negotiating something even if it does pass. he might sabatoge it or something. he wasnt the most trustworthly lookin fella either. the multiple 3" deep scars across his face probably has a story behind them.

sucks tho. it was fast, very fast. the one i drove today was non vtec with higher boost, 12 compared to 8. it wouldnt stand a chance. that first one also drove a lot smother. the car didnt shake and the clutch was easy. this one its difficult to start out in first. i made a great impression killing it 2x in a row.

it would be a settle. i would be willing to pay 3000 for it. but he wont go for that. hes stuck at 4000 from 4600. im sure if i came and showed 3700-3800 hed do it.
