Default just turbod, oil leak?

hey guys, about 2 weeks ago, i turbod my 99 si b16. but now im smoking out the exhaust and i know its an oil leak. ive checked everywhere, none of the oil lines or oil pan or anything are leaking and i see oil on the turbo. im pretty sure the leak is in the exhaust housing. does this mean ive blown my seals? i'm getting a compression test done on saturday to find out for sure. i just wanted ya'lls opinions. i appreciate it!

there could be a few problems like fried ring lands, bad turbo seals and a couple others but those 2 being the most common. how is your car tuned? what kind of fuel management? what kinda kit are you using?

the turbo was just completely rebuilt. its a turbonetics kit, t3/t04. running an fmu. also, i know i have an air leak somewhere in one of the couplings because the wastegate's spring is set at 8 lbs and the turbo's only running 5 lbs. so i havent gone above 5. how hard is it to replace the rings, if that happened to be it of course?

it smokes all the time, usually right at start up and at the first hard acceleration. then when im sitting at idle waiting to turn it off, it usually smokes for a bit, then stops. its not constant. i also see a tiny bit of oil in the inlet of the turbo.

Hmm, is it an actual turbonetics turbo?

That would be your turbo seals.

What size lines are you running for feed, and make sure your drain has NO dips in it and goes as straight downhill as possible into the oil pan.

Put a .6 restrictor from ATPturbo.com in your feed line, and make sure that drain line is vertical.

That's what mine looks like, obviously it's connected to the oil pan but you get the idea of how it has to travel downhill the entire way. If you're running -4AN lines you are feeding the turbo with too much oil as well, definitely will need a restrictor.

First of all, ditch the FMU and get some real engine management, it'll save you a lot of headaches in the long run
