Hey man, dont wanna sound rude but theres already a couple of long posts about xs power/ssautochrome on this forum. I'm not going to say weather its crap or not cuz I have no experience with it. I'll let you do the research and figure it out yourself. Ive done nothing but read about turbos for the past 6 months and Im just starting to piece a kit together with name brand parts, which I think is the way to go. Hope this helps.
that aint a b-series in the pic, but my buddy did buy a kit for his si 1999 and he paid like 1500$ for the kit and had to buy the hondata for 500$ put on 500$ look on his face after put on priceless, nothin wrong with ebay kits!!!!
you gotta be careful with those ebay kits. there isnt nessecarily anything wrong with them, but the quality might not be as good. someone i knew got a kit from ebay and the compressor housing was all welded together and whatnot...not safe at all. another friend of mine get an ebay kit and his stuff looked not to bad. the main things you need to look for are a good turbo, and make sure you dont get some sh*tty wastegate. i wouldnt mess with a crappy wastegate. intercoolers are intercoolers. if you want it to say greddy on it then go ahead and spend 800 dollars more but thats up to you. make sure you buy an FMU (Fuel management unit) get something to tune with (V-AFC would be nice) get bigger injectors, nothing bigger than 450cc for now i would say. make sure you get a wideband and boost gauge and boost controller although some of that stuff isnt nessecary right away. check out www.homemadeturbo.com its a pretty cool site. check out some of their videos too. doing a home made kit would be good cause buying a 2500 dollar kit off some well known brands site is honestly a waste of hard earned money. hope some of this stuff helps! PeAcE.
those things are like 50/50 on whether or not theyre good. some people can get a great product and then the next one off the line will crack a weld within three weeks. like riceburner said its all a crapshoot.
They don't have warranties for a reason.
I will never forget reading the story about the guy who was driving down the highway... had his manifold snap in half and his turbo flop down the road like a dead fish behind him.
The rest of the stories I read have manifolds cracking and turbo's blowing oil all over the place. Once again, no thanks.
