Default Performer X kit for D16Y8.....

Got the last thing I needed c/o UPS about 15 mins. ago (Blox MAP Bypass Valve)....starting the install today, but the place I'm doing it at is only open until 21:00, so hopefully I can get the @!*% out of work early. I don't foresee any probs with the installation and the on-post craft shop has all of the tools I'll need, so things should go smoothly. I'd really like to take pics of the install, but getting a digicam is proving difficult. I plan on posting a good review when I'm all done, hopefully I can get one before then. Wish me luck!

Dear God, no! I plan on starting today, prolly around 15:00ish....I don't think they'll let me leave work earlier than that. I figure I can actually start the whole process at around 15:30, which gives me 5 1/2 hours until the shop closes. I can use their facilities for all of the hard crap, and then push the car out of the bay and finish up. I don't plan on being finished until sometime.....early tomorrow morning, in the midnight - 1am range.

Well good luck with that man. I've seen guys do a full install in one evening/night before, but they were highly seasoned turbo veterans.

Best of luck

It can be done in a day, especially if you prefit all of the pieces.

I did mine in two.

like i siad, it CAN be done, by seasoned veterans. No noob is going to install a turbo in a day
Plus, IMO theres more to an install then just putting the parts on.

I snapped both of the bolts that hold the downpipe to the cat. We had a three-day this weekend, so everybody else I knew with a car was gone, therefore I couldn't get new bolts. We've got the M16 range for the next two days, so I won't really be able to get to it until Wednesday at the earliest *sob* Anyways, other than that, I spread the install over 3 days. It took me 10 1/2 hours all together, which includes numerous times I had to stop and look for tools...I'm soooooo absent minded. I used a temp solution to hold the cat to the downpipe, and took her for a test drive....OMG! It's like a different car. I'll do a parts review and go into more detail, hopefully within the next couple of days, but I've gotta go to the range in a couple of minutes, so I just wanna thank those folks who answered all of my stupid questions about turbos and electronics and such L8r!
