Default Question on Turbonetics turbo kit

I just bought a 95 civic eg hatchback and i am taking a b18c1 from a 95 integra gsr and swapping it in. I just found a turbonetics turbocharger kit on ebay for 1500 bucks.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-93...item35a5955566

First off, I would like to know if you guys think this is good quality kit, second, how hard would it be to tune it properly, and also, do you guys think it would pass MD state inspection with the turbo kit installed or should i get it inspected before the turbo kit is installed?

I just got in an accident with the 95 gsr and i just picked up the civic and plan on doing the swap over the next couple of days. I will have many other build questions along with these. Thanks alot guys for your input.

The turbo is the only thing Turbonetics, it's not really a turbonetics kit, just a generic kit with a turbonetics turbo. Everything is decent except you'd probably want a more reliable blow-off valve and wastegate. You may also want to have a custom downpipe made and just use the flanges off of the one it came with, that way it fits better and you can install a flex pipe... it needs to be worked on to fit anyway considering it doesn't have the cat flange on it. I think they have some other generic/turbonetics combo turbo kits on eBay that come with a name brand wastegate and blow-off valve. Either that or get that one and sell the BOV and wastegate and replace with nicer ones.

P.S. the one you linked us says it comes with an RS blow off valve... this isn't the GReddy RS, it's a knockoff.

^^^ Pretty sure they decrease MPG. You are pushing extra air, which need to be compensated with extra fuel.

It will decrease your MPGs. A few months back I saw a few Turbonetics kits on ebay that came with a name brand WG and BOV. But you could piece a kit together cheaper by using slightly used parts. Check Honda-Tech for stuff.
