Default random ?'s

Im going to be boosting my stock d16a6 with a t3/t4 turbo (air research) and have a few ?'s
ill be shooting for about 200whp
Do i need to install a aftermarket fuel pump (i have dsm blue top injectors)?
Do i need a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator?
Is it easier to tune (or better) if i convert to OBD1? if so whats needed besides conversion harness?
Do i need to install ARP head studs? i have heard you need to but others say that you dont if your running stock internals

Yes, it is recommended to get a higher output fuel pump. A walbro 255lph will be just fine. You can get on eBay brand new for like $90 shipped. How big are those injectors you have?

I doubt you need an aftermarket FPR.

The only way to tune an OBD2 ecu is via piggyback (VAFC, Greddy E-manage etc). Piggybacks suck IMO, so I beleive it is easier and better to tune with OBD1. (however, depending on your state, if you switch from obd2 to obd1, you'll fail emissions) If you wanted to get something like Crome, Hondata, ecTune, you would need to switch to OBD1. For this you would need the harness (~$65), and the ECU itself.

It is strongly recommended to get upgraded headstuds to prevent head lift under boost. Head lift will cause your HG to blow and you'll start overheating etc etc.

1. no you don't but its not bad just to get a walbro for <$100
2.Nope
3.its easier to just use OBD1,to tune yourself? you will need a wideband, a chip burner and a program like crome. if not tuning yourself all you need is the harness but a wideband wouldn't be a bad idea
4. i def. would you don't want headlift and its <$100 too

negative on the obd0, you will still want to convert to obd1(lucky bastard u dont have emissions). You will need the ecu + harness. If you look around you might be able to get both for $100. I would get arp headstuds if I were you. I was about to. Look, when ur boosting, everything is under more stress so anything you can do to relieve some of that will be a +. I dont really think you will need a 255 since you have my 450s hehe. Make sure you get a resistor tho for the injectors.

My bad, for some reason, I thought you were obd2. You're lucky for not having emissions. I bet an internal WG will hold you at a steady 7 lbs or so. The 450cc injectors you have should be fine. However, I would strongly recommend a fuel pump. You stock fuel pump was designed to work with the stock injectors (270 cc or something like that). If you are overworking it to support boost and bigger injectors, it has a chance of failing, or underperforming (max-ing out).

So let's say you have the turbo kit installed etc etc, but stock fuel pump. You get on the dyno (after scheduling an appt., waiting and all that jazz) and can't figure out why you're not hitting your goal HP, or why you're AFR's are leaning out under boost. Now you have to go back, buy the walbro pump, and then take it back to the dyno. Do it right the first time.

Well, it'll be at least $45 for the conversion harness and at least $80 for the OBD1 ECU (like a P28). Then you have to chip it with either chrome, neptune, Hondata, ecTune, etc. Which in turn will cost more. Then you have to pay for the car to be tuned (unless you know how to do it yourself). You may get lucky and find a chipped p28 for under $160.

OP, you probably want something like this:

lol sorry bout that but im with cronic on the fuel pump, you really don't need one, but its not a bad $80 to spend. and i got my chipped ecu with hondata s100 + harness for $190.25. the hondata its self cost $195 so it was basically free lol. the ecu i stole on ebay for $152.25 and the harness i got on honta tech for $36 shipped
