Just i/h/e, so for all intents and purposes, no. I might get a turbo-grind cam while I'm piecing everythign together, but I'm probably going to end up keeping the stock bottom end.

*edit: anybody know what the 14b's wastegate is set at? I read 11.5 psi... is that right? Because if so, I'm going to say screw the boost controller.. 11.5 psi is enough for me.

Stick to brand name boost controllers. HKS and GReddy both make good ones. You want to get your car tuned on both settings. Just "upping" the boost is going to hurt your engine.

Okay, thanks for the advice... I was looking at a GReddy boost controller (I'm going electronic... I like fancy things lol) before I saw the PIT one, but when you see a boost controller with all those extra features for $300, it kind of catches your eye.

Anyway, here's my little shopping list so far:
-manual trans. swap (hopefully this winter)
-14b turbo
-K2 motor intercooler (27"x6"x2.5")
-modified HF manifold (unless I can find a better mani)
-PIT blowoff valve
-Venom 440 ccm injectors (or the DSM ones, but I'm not sure on the whole resister box thing)
-Stealthmode oil line kit
-Nordskog digital boost, voltmeter, and oil pressure guages (autometer full pillar pod)
-GReddy turbo timer
-GReddy boost controller (if I get one)
-GReddy e-manage

^ that's the stuff I've found so far.. stuff might change (obviously), but if you have any input on the list, let me know... I'd appreciate it.

well, I looked it up... one site said they ran at 11.5 psi, and the other said 7. So what is it? Anybody with a 14b want to speak up? And if it is 7, I'll probably get a dual-stage boost controller and run 11 or 12 psi as my "high" setting (meaning I'll use it less often than I use my angel eyes lol) and 7 as my "low". And with the psi, would the engine itself be the problem with more boost (since the internals are stock), or would the fuel delivery system be the problem?

And I need to remember to go buy a compression tester... I don't rent stuff under the theory that I might need it again someday lol

i have a d15b7 with a T25 and DSM450's and ebay fuel pressure regulater, and chippd ecu but not tuned, and i run 10 psi on stock internals and havent hurt it yet(key word is yet lol) but i do think the 14b is gated at more then 7psi. but all u have to do to turn it up or down is turn the adjustment rod on the back of it, if you tighten the rod ull get more boost and if you loosen it ull get less boost. and as far as the intercooler goes you can use a stock one from a eclipse or a talon. they work good. if you do use the hf mani like i do make sure u change the crush gasket. it will leak if it's used. if you have any questions just ask.

Well, I tried calling about the talons for sale today (but I couldn't get ahold of anybody). I'll probably try again tomorrow, but does anybody have an idea of what I should offer for the turbo? I'm thinking of offering around $75. Also, is there anything that I should look for if/when I go to look at the turbo before buying it? I mean like is there something I should look at on the turbo itself?
