Default Reliable turbo kit

Im looking for a nice reliable turbo kit for my d16y8. I want to spend 1500-2000 on one if it puts down nice numbers and is fairly reliable. Anyone have any input on some nice turbo kits?

i would say search the site for pete's turbo grocery list. he has some good parts in there for a good price. it is going to be better if you put your own kit together. when you have a turbo on, a lot of things can go wrong in the motor, even with the best stuff on your car.

This man speaks the truth. I'm still in the process of getting my y8 up and running, and its been 2.5 months. I would say that your first order of business is to call around and find a reliable tuner in your area. Some shmuck with a computer will not due, as the y8 is a tricky sumbitch to tune correctly. The timing is all over the place, and you need someone who is familiar with the specific motor.

Alright thanks abunch guys. For the ecu would i run a p28 ecu? I got a p05? out of my 2000 civic ex. Could i put the p05 in my cx hatch? Oh and what would be the best axles to use once i get the turbo on? (i got a reliable tuner in a city close to mine...one of the best in the area and he used to have a 300 hp SOHC hatch so im pretty sure he could tune mine.

you need the p28 since you have vtec and also you should be fine on your stock axles for now.
