can anyone here who has a supercharger or know about the components of one.. explain which parts come upgraded that would not need an aftermarket.. ie throttle body/intake manifold/headers.. etc..

It will replace your intake manifold and has nothing to do with your exhaust header. Your stock throttlebody will connect to the inlet port of the JR supercharger. It should come with a fuel system upgrade and will probably work with your stock injectors. It will probably have a different thermostat (to run it a bit cooler by turning oon your fan at a lower temp) and a new crankshaft bolt. Then obvoiusly a new belt will be supplied... you should have everything needed to make it run once installed. Talk to street sniper, he actually has this JR kit.

Other than that you will probably need to buy colder spark plugs (preferably iridium... I recommend DENSO or NGK) and I highly recomment a boost gauge. It will let you know that your system is running correctly, you arent bleeding boost somewhere and your belt isnt slipping.

... when you are ready for some more boost shoot me a PM and I'll teach you how to bypass that pesky bypass vavle which will bleed off (what your ECU feels is) excess boost. It will get you about another 3 lbs

Yup, everything Polo said. The great thing about JR's kit is that it is designed to bolt right up to a stock Civic and work with all of your stock components. All they really recommend is a new fuel pump (255lph). One step colder plugs is a great idea too, and a boost gauge is a must.

Click the link in my signature to get a little taste of the JRSC setup. Keep in mind this was a pretty conservative run because my clutch was slipping so badly. Like Polo said, drop me a line if you have any more questions about any of it.

Alright... so i dont need hondata or tune to run this setup correct?.. and does motor need pulled to install this kit? .. also i already plan on getting walbro 255 when i install my b18c1.. plus new plugs/wires/distributor ..would you recommend a larger TB... or is this not needed? .. oh and i have on order oil press/air fuel/water temp gauge and a tach for my car.. left my 2 dash opening for boost guage and one other .. which other gauge would you recommend for running this setup?.. Thanks again for info.. will shoot ya an Email STreet if i dont get a response here..Thanks

One more thing.. when i go to rebuilt my motor next summer .. what things should i start looking for.. would this be considered a boost setup.. ie for my new cam/lifters??

One more edit.. what axles do you run.. or would you recommend running.. i cant get a response for that thread...Thanks

nope, hondata or a tune arent needed... but will increase HP and efficiency. It will run the way JR intended it to right out of the box.

as for the gauge... booste dI highly recommend a fuel pressure gauge, especially if you upgrade your fuel pump.

The motor does not need to be pulled (about a 4 hr install if you have an idea of what you are doing) and a larger TB will help, but again isnt needed.

i would also try and get a EGT (exhaust gas temp) gauge and if you have the money a aem wideband to monitor air/fuel ratio

got an air fuel ratio already.. just not aem brand.

..Also would it be worthwhile then to assume to upgrade to aluminum radiator.. or just wait and check into this Water cooled system??.. Basically looking for heads up on prices i guess.. and what parts are needed.. or if its a whole kit

the radiator upgrade isnt needed, the kit should also come with a new thermostat to keep things a bit cooler.

A larger tb will always increase power and of course if your intake stream is all the same diameter you will have a more efficient flow which means more power. As for a wideband o2 sensor it really isnt needed either unless you plan on doing alot of self tuning. A standard a/f gauge will basically let you know if you are too lean, just not by how much.

All these upgrades you are asking about will net you more horsepower, but the kit is designed to work on a stock setup. So not getting these other upgrades will not ruin anything. If you want more power then definately look into these things but they arent needed to run the s/c safely and efficiently.

Maybe I can help alittle I HAD a JR Supercharger on my 1999 Civic Si but blew the motor and well I did something stupied long story, anyway with my setup I had Hondata which you don't need but helps with HP gain and a set of 550cc injectors 255 fuel pump a 6 and an 8 pound pully but the only bad thing is when I put on the 8 pound pulley when the summer got really hot the car would want to over heat so and that was with the thermostat that came with the supercharger and a 3 inch exhaust and also with your basic things like intake header little stuff but like the other guys said you don't need the small things that was just my setup but with that I dynoed I dont have the print out anymore but it was like 192 with the 6lbs pulley and 208 with the 8lbs pulley, but thats pretty much it, oh my friend has an evo it was stock at the time and not from a stop but from a roll I could take him by a half car but it was a different story from a stop oh and that was on street tires never raced him with slicks that wasn't the only evo I raced there were a few others but now I don't have my supercharger anymore so my foot is in my mouth!
