Does anyone make an SC for a 2001 Civic EX. (d17) thanks.

 

Been searching non i've seen yet Jackson Racing said they won't build one for the D17

Crappy rod/stroke ratio
Allaround crappy design for an engine from a performance standpoint.

The new L series and R series engines will be welcome changes

 

theyre not making them for the D17 because the major engine for the 7th gen is the K series. the only reason theres superchargers for the D16s is because in the early 90's thats all they had. the first civic SI had a D16A6 i believe...so it makes sense that there's lots of D16 aftermarket support. however the D17 didnt come around until after B and K.

They are just now getting around to making a cam for the D17 if that tells you anything.

The new R-Series which is slated to take the place of the D-Series will be great though and I cant wait to dig into one.

1.8 SOHC rated at 140hp for the lower model and 160hp for the upper with independent coil on plug design,a better tq band,a timing chain and not a belt. it will be nice if it is not surrounded by a bunch of walls setup by the electronics.

The K20A3 is also a gonner cause they are not going to make the RSX anymore so the new SI will have the K20A2 in it. No more fake vtec.

 

whats happening with the RSX? is it going to be replaced?

 

The Civic SI will all but take it's place and there will be no more DC(RSX/Integra) platform. Acura is going to be pushed into BMW land with their lowest model being the TSX and shortly getting a high powered V6 and AWD.

There is rumors or a V8 powered RL with AWD also
