http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1629

Looks to be a complete turbo... I don't see anything missing.

Don't by an SS Autochrome turbo, or Turbo XS, or any of that sh!t. It's all the same, just an eBay turbo with a fake brand name to make them sound better than the unbranded ones.

kylea24 08-16-2009 07:23 PM

yep it is and ^^^^+1 on the SS.
that is not really cheap you can find one for like $100 if you look in the right places

You're going to need more than just a complete turbo.

And the reason T25's are so cheap is because they're effing tiny. I'll save you a few hundred dollars, actually. Go to a junkyard or someone parting out a 1g Talon Tsi or Mitsu. Eclipse GSX or GST. They share the Mitsubishi 14b turbo, which is the same snail as the T25. You can usually pick them up for around $100-$150 used.

Read the stickies. You named exact brands they mention and everything. And I think he thinks the "complete turbo" means "complete KIT".

a t25 is good for a paper weight. Atleast get a 14B

+1 on both of these. I've got a 14b and love it, just running the stock 9.5 PSI on ther internal wastegate, and i got mine for less than $100. Look around Civic forums for used turbos, they can be had for super cheap all around.

How much can I find a 14B turbo kit for? Used roughly you think?

trustdestruction 08-21-2009 01:17 PM

Piece a kit together.

reaper2022 08-21-2009 01:35 PM

Chances are, you're not going to find a used kit with a 14B. You're actually better off piecing together a custom kit, since it lets you choose the parts you want for your turbo kit. What someone else wants in their setup might not be what you want.

For example, I plan to compound-boost my mustang with an extremely aggressive cam. Between the cam and the lightweight flywheel and driveshaft, the car won't want to idle to save its life, and it's going to be extremely touchy starting from a stop. For most people, it would make a terrible DD. But it's what I expect from the car, and it's what I want from the car.

Basically, I'm saying a turbo kit should suit your needs, and the best way to do that is to buy your own parts, not a setup someone else built. If you piece together a setup, you're looking at $2,000 and up, depending on what you get.

oldskoolstang 08-23-2009 01:26 PM

I've seen very good kits pieced together for well under $2,000....but that was getting some of the parts at awesome deals.

My '97 Eclipse GST has a T25 turbo on it. The previous owner decided it needed a front mount and 3" piping.....dumb. I've yet to change it, but this is the smallest freakin turbo I've ever seen. It's tiny and not very effective. If you are going for any sort of power get a gt30r or something bigger than the T25.

reaper2022 08-23-2009 01:43 PM

You have to figure in the power band and exhaust flow of a 1.6L though. A T25 or 14B is a good turbo for someone that just wants around 200whp and wants the car to maintain its driveability. I would think something like a gt30r would be hard for a single cam civic to spool, and probably wouldn't see full boost until near redline, which makes for a poor DD. Most of the time spent driving (for anyone that lives in or near a city) is spent accelerating from a stop, where a giant turbo is useless.
